Dr. James Nelson is the PI on a major Award of Cooperative Agreement from the U.S.  Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.  This award, Ecological Function and Recovery of Biological Communities within Sand Shoal Habitats within the Gulf of Mexico (MM-19-01), is for $1,999,169, including about $800,000 in subwards to LUMCON, LSU, and VIMS.   The focus of the work is to assess the ecological effects of large scale dredging on Ship Shoal for restoration projects in coastal Louisiana.
